Gingerbread Swag

Equipment: Paper for pattern. Pencil. Ruler. Scissors. Straight pins.
Materials: Red and green calico cotton fabrics: approximately 8" x 16" for each of twelve dolls; 1/2 yd. of each for end loops. Red, green, and white sewing thread. White rickrack, 3/8 yd. each. White shank buttons, 3/8", 3 each for eyes and noses. Polyester fiberfill for stuffing.
Edible Crafts: Make Candy Bouquets and Centerpieces For Fun & Profit.
Directions: Enlarge pattern (below) by copying on paper ruled in 1" squares; complete half-pattern indicated by dash lines. From double fabric, cut two dolls for each doll. Pin rickrack to right side of one doll piece as indicated by dash lines on pattern, and down center front of body. With white thread, stitch rickrack to doll piece.
With right sides facing, pin two doll pieces together. Stitch all around, 1/4" in from edges, leaving an opening at inner part of leg. Clip into seam allowance at curves. Turn to right side. Push out corners and curves smoothly. For eyes and nose, tack on buttons to front of doll as indicated by dots on pattern. Through opening, stuff doll fully. Turn in edges of opening; slip-stitch closed.
With matching thread, stitch dolls together at arm ends, alternating red and green fabrics.
For loops, cut two pieces of red and two pieces of green calico, 7" wide, 28" long each. With right sides facing, fold each strip in half lengthwise; cut off one end slightly at an angle. Stitch together along edges and diagonal end, 1/4" in from edges, leaving straight end open to turn fabric. Turn to right side.
Turn in open edge and slip-stitch a red and a green strip together at ends.  Place the red and green halves together by folding about 1" from joining making uneven ends. Bend folded end down to form loops about 6" long; wrap end around the two halves tightly and tack together. Tack arm of each end doll to each looped piece.

Dough Kids

Dough Recipe: In a large saucepan, mix one cup of table salt with one tablespoonful of love oil. Sit in one cup of boiling water and let the liquid stand until cool. Using a wooden spoon gradually add two cups of white, all-purpose flour. With both hands, knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky. YIELD: 6, happy-chubby kids.
Edible Crafts: Make Candy Bouquets and Centerpieces For Fun & Profit.
Now, Preheat oven to 350°.
Next: Use carbon paper, trace the body and head patterns below onto cardboard.
Head Pattern (Left) - Body Pattern (Right)

Place your cardboard pattern cookie-fashion on top of a thick slab of dough. Use a safety razor blade or an X-acto knife to cut around the pattern and dough, then lift off the pattern. Bodies on all figures should be slightly rounded and smooth. Wetting just your fingertips, smooth and round the sides of the body slightly. Bodies are also the kids clothes, so to give the feel of motion, turn ends up slightly  on the little girl's hem. To make trousers on the boys, cut less than half the way  up using scissors or your blade. Cut cuffs on pants straight using a blade.
Next, make the head. Please notice that the heads are slightly tear shaped, and are made from a ball of dough about the size of a ping-pong ball. Shape by hand using pattern to determine correct size. Then, wet the neck area of the body and place the head on at an angle. You will find that different expressions can be achieved by the way the head is placed on the body. Note: Heads should be slightly larger in proportion to their bodies.
Face Features: Experiment on a round piece of dough to find the correct way to place the features of the face before actually doing it on the heads you will be using. First, roll two tiny pieces of dough into balls and then flatten (these will be the cheeks). Next come the eyes. Use cuticle scissors in an upside down position and directly above each cheek snip out an eye socket. The dough "V" sticking up will become the upper eyelid. Using the rounded end of a hairpin or similar object (paper clip), carefully lift  the upper eyelid and pop a peppercorn into each socket, making sure not to push the peppercorn too far into the dough. Smooth the upper lit slightly over the eye. Eyebrows are also made by using the rounded end of the hairpin. For the mouth, sad or smiling mouths can be made in the following manner. Roll a small ball of dough into a cylinder, wet the mouth area and put into place, again using the rounded end of a hair pin, separate the lips just a whisper. Up for smiles, down for frowns. Practice these techniques until you are pleased with your results. Nose: Roll a tiny, tiny ball of dough, lick with the tip of your tongue and put it where it goes!
Hair: Fill a garlic press with dough, squeeze, and out comes hair. You may also use a sieve or a small piece of window screen.
Hats and Bonnets: You should practice these and place them on the kids before placing the facial features. There is no way to instruct you on how to create these, so you will simply have to practice, practice, practice or leave their heads with hair only.
Clothes:  Aprons and pinafores are rolled and cut from dough and placed on slightly moistened bodies. You can make straps, sashes, buttons, cuffs, patches, pockets, etc., by shaping pieces of dough, moistening and attaching where desired. The more you practice, the more accents you can create.
Shoes: Two oval shapes of dough make the shoes, lap one over the other.
Arms and hands: The arms are the sleeves and these are just slightly flattened, curved, finger formed coils of dough applied directly under the shoulders. The hands are made by flattening a small ball of dough and then slightly cup it with a Q-tip. Then use the cuticle scissors to make four short cuts to form the fingers. Use a toothpick to separate them and make knuckle dimples.
Baking: Place the kids in the preheated oven for one hour. Remove from oven and while still warm, wash their faces and hands with a Q-tip covered with a thin film of mayonnaise.
Painting: Use watercolors to paint face, facial features and hands. After you have finished washing and painting, put them back in the over for an additional 15 minutes.  Allow them to cool to room temperature and begin painting remainder of each kid as desired. Use bright happy colors.
Glazing: Turn your kids over to sign your name on each one before glazing. When paints have completely dried, either coat them with a clear acrylic spray, or brush on All-Purpose Glaze. ENJOY YOUR KIDS!

Dough Angels

Finished size is 3x5 inches.
Materials: Flour, salt, and water; Garlic press; Aluminum foil; cookie sheet; No. 20 gold crafts wire; Acrylic paints; Artist’s brushes; Fine-tipped permanent marker; High-gloss polyurethane.
Instructions:
Dough: Place 1 cup flour and 1/4 cup salt in a bowl. Add about 6 tablespoons of water and blend with dry ingredients. Dough should be soft but not sticky. Knead until all of the salt is worked in and the dough feels smooth.
Cover cookie sheet with foil and work directly on the foil. Note: Moisten dough with water between all joints as you add pieces to the ornament.
Angel: DRESS-—Pinch off a piece of dough about the size of a golf ball. Press dough between your fingers to flatten it into a ½-inch-thick dress shape. Dress should measure about 3 inches high and 4 inches wide. Pinch and fold the dress waist, gathering it to a width of 1 inch.
For sleeves, roll two 1/2-inch-thick pieces of dough about 1 1/2 inches long. Bend and attach to dress. Pinch off a small piece of dough for the neck ruffle. Flatten it into a thin strip that measures 1/2 x 1 ½ inches. Pinch one long side to gather the ruffle and fasten it over the dress and arms.
ARMLOAD FIGURES: For the teddy, roll a ½-inch ball of dough for the tummy; add 1/4x1/2-inch legs at bottom of tummy. For head, attach a slightly flattened ¼-inch ball to the top of the tummy. Add a flattened piece of dough for muzzle; add ears. Attach bear between angel’s sleeves.
Add 1/8 x¾ -inch arms after angel’s hands are in place, so the bear’s arms hang over the angel’s arms.
For the sheep, push dough through garlic press to form a ½-inch-thick "fleece" for body; body should be 1 inch in diameter. Attach four legs, each measuring ¼ x¾ inch to body bottom. Roll a 3/8 -inch-diameter ball of dough for head; attach to upper body. Add ¼-inch ears and "fleece" to top of head. Place between angel sleeves.
For stars, cut 1/8-inch-thick rolled dough with miniature cookie cutters or cut out stars with a paring knife. Attach four or five stars to angel dress between sleeves. Add a few more after angel’s hands are attached.
For basket, roll a flattened shape for basket bottom; it should measure 1 inch wide at the basket top and ½ inch deep. Attach to angel’s dress front. Fill basket with greens (dough pushed through garlic press). Add a 1/8-inch-thick handle over the greens and angel’s sleeve.
ANGEL’S HEAD: Roll a piece of dough into a ½-inch-thick flattened oval shape that measures ¾ x l inch. Attach to neck ruffle. Place a tiny piece of dough at the center for the nose.
ANGEL’S HANDS: Form two 3/8-inch-thick balls. Flatten slightly and cut four slits with paring knife to form fingers and thumbs. Attach to angel around armload.
FEET: Attach ½ x ¾ -inch feet to center of the dress hem. Add three 1/8-inch-diameter toes to each foot.
WINGS: Shape two ½-inch-thick triangles from dough that measure 1 inch wide at the bases and taper out to a length of 1½ inches. Attach to angel’s shoulder, layering one wing over the other.
HAIR: Push dough through garlic press; style hair as shown in photograph.
HALO: Wind gold wire around a thick pen to shape a circle. Clip ends, leaving ½-inch ends. Twist ends and insert into the top of the angel’s head.
Bake the ornaments at 275 degrees for about 3 hours; check periodically. Ornaments are done when they are completely hard. Allow to cool before painting.
Paint Ornaments with acrylic paints, using the photograph  above for color ideas. Draw eyes and animal mouths with a fine-tip marker. Coat the painted Ornaments with a high-gloss polyurethane.

Bread Dough Wreath

Equipment: Mixing bowl; plastic wrap; cookie sheet; aluminum foil; rolling pin; toothpicks; fork; knife; wire rack; paintbrush for varnish or shellac.
Edible Crafts: Make Candy Bouquets and Centerpieces For Fun & Profit.
Materials: Bread dough recipe below; whole cloves; varnish or shellac; epoxy cement.
Bread Dough Recipe: 4 cups flour; 1 cup salt; 1 1/2 cups warm water; 1 tsp. instant tea (heaping).
Mix the flour and salt together. To the 1 1/2 cups warm water, add 1 heaping teaspoon of plain instant tea. Dissolve well; let cool. Add liquid tea to flour mixture; mix very well with hands. Knead until smooth. Roll into ball; cover with plastic wrap.
Directions: Cover cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 300° F.
Pinch off a large piece of dough; roll into a long sausage shape, then shape into a circle on cookie sheet. Wet ends and press together. Circle may be any size you desire, but keep in mind how much dough you have left with which to add ornamentation. Our wreath, without decorations, has approximately an 8" outer diameter with a 5" diameter center opening, and is about 1/2" thick.
To decorate wreath, pinch off pieces of dough and roll out with rolling pin or flatten with hands to about 1/4" thickness. Cut out leaf shapes with knife. Score each leaf with knife to mark the vein lines. Moisten back of each leaf with a little water; press on wreath. Make the largest fruit next (apples, pears, peaches). Press whole cloves into dough for stems and core ends of fruit: for stems of apples and pears, push clove bud into dough, leaving the stem end out; for the core ends of fruit, press in the stem end of the clove, exposing just the bud from which the ball of clove has been removed. Wet the wreath circle and attach the fruit pieces. Fill in spaces with clusters of grape, strawberry, nut, and a few plum shapes. Imprint texture and lines with toothpick or fork.
To make bow, roll out dough to 1/4" thickness; cut a long strip (20" x 24") about 1 1/4" wide. Fold and pinch strip into bow; cut away ends as illustrated. Place bow separately on foil-covered cookie sheet.
Bake wreath and bow in preheated 300° F. oven for 3 hours or until completely dry and hard (if bow is done before wreath, tear foil and remove bow from oven). Place on wire rack and let cool. Peel off foil. Leave on rack for several days in dry place.
Coat wreath and bow separately with varnish or shellac. When dry, cement bow to wreath, using epoxy cement as directed on package.

The recipe of black lead

hi we use lead for outlining the glasspaintings and like it is basically used for outlining

Ingredients:
4 tablespoon white glue (it should be really thick)
1 teaspoon plaster of paris (powder)
1 tablespoon oil paints black colour (the one's which r in tin, not the tube one)

Next just pass the glue through malmal ka cloth so that its fine n clear. After that sieve the plaster of paris powder also. Then mix all the ingredients thoroughly n then put this paste in a cone (made out of plastic sheet).
Then its ready to use.

Note: When u will make the paste it will be in grey clour but when it will dry then it will turn black. You can use any colour in this lead.

RECIPE FOR PORCELAIN DOUGH

1 cup full u need glue but u have to check it wheater it is perfect for the dough or not by taking a drop of it and appling it to any surface then wait till it dry if it turns colourless like a glass transparent then its perfect
1 cup cornflour be careful that the corn flour should be little less then glue
1 teaspoon cold cream of any company
1/2 teaspoon vanishing cream
and little amount of lemon juice

METHOD AND INFORMATION
in porcelain dough u should never ever use petroleum jelly and its making is just like italian dough and in this u will not add colour to it because it is coloured by dying colours u have to make flowers and then let them dry and when they r fully dried then u have to dye them with dying colours like u dye the cloths

Paper machie recipe

i've got the recipe after searching my whole docs.
Tissue paper
Water
Salt
White glue or white paste

Tear the tissuepaper into tiny pieces and put them in a large bowl. Add just enough warm to hot water to completely cover the tissuepaper. Let soak for few hours.

Once your tissuepaper has soaked, get your hands into it! Play with it, mix it, and squeeze it through your fingers until it looks like oatmeal! Try to get as many lumps out as possible. If necessary, add a bit more water and let it soak a little more.

Once you have it as smooth as possible, add a bit of salt to help retard mold. but not too much.

Mix it again with your hands. Once mixed thoroughly, squeeze out any excess water and add a few tablespoons of glue. Now you are ready to use your tissue paper pulp!

You can also try letting your tissuepaper and hot water mixture sit for a few hours and then put it in a blender or food processor. Don't forget to add the glue and salt once your mixture is smooth!

Store your pulp in an air tight baggie or bowl in the refrigerator for a very long time!
this recipe was basicallly for newspaper, i've changed it for u. you may use whatever u want ’

Italian Craft Dough Recipe

The Italian Craft Dough has to be cooked. It is cooked on stove but can be cooked in microwave too.
In the following recipe, we have used the microwave but if you dont have microwave, you can follow the steps that will be described at the end
of this page.
1. You'll Need:
1 cup cornflour,
1 cup german white glue,
1/4 cup water,
1 tsp lemon juice,
1 tsp glycerine,
plus 1 tbs of petroleum jelly for later use.
2nd step.
Pour the white glue in a pot that can be kept in microwave.
3rd step.
Mix in it the water until homogenous.
4th step.
Its consistency will be like this:
5th step.
Then mix in the cornflour one tablespoon at a time, mixing well between additions.
6th step.
Mix until there will be no lump.
7th step.
Then add lemon juice. Mix well.
8th step.
Add glycerine, mix well.
9th step.
Divide the mixture in two same proportions or according to your pots. The layer of mixture mustn't be too thick.
10th step.
Keep the mixture in microwave for about 2 minutes.
11th step.
When you'll take out the pots, the dough will be like this; cooked from the sides and liquid from the inside. Take out the cooked portion and put the mixture back in the microwave for two more minutes.
12th step.
Grease a polyethene bag with petroleum jelly and put the cooked mixture in it.
13th step.
Knead the mixture that now is in the form of dough. Use the cloth between your hands and bag as the dough is too hot.
14th step.
Let the dough cool for few minutes in the bag but it must not be closed. Its ready when cool enough to handle with bare hands. Then knead it again between palms to make it more stable.

Tips and Tricks

Things to Remember

* Use a non-stick pan or aluminium utensil for cooking.

* Use flat wooden spoon.

* First cook on medium heat, when the mixture starts to cook, slow it down.

* Keep yourself away from its steam when the dough is cooked or cooking; its steam can cause pain and burning in eyes.

* When kneading the hot dough, use a towel over the bag of dough to protect hands from burning.

* After kneading the dough, open up the plastic bag to let go the steam completely. If you don't, then dough will become too sticky and wet, in short it will be ruined.

* When completely cooled, knead the dough in small batches with fingers.

* Mix in white poster colour after one day.

* Colours can be mixed the same day after mixing the white colour.

* Use dough after one day of colour-mixing to get good results.

* Keep the dough air-tight in a plastic bag.

* Lemon juice can be replaced with white vinegar.

* Glycerine can be replaced with cooking oil or baby oil.

* Cold cream can be used instead of petroleum jelly but its not as greasy as the latter and you will have to use it more than petroleum jelly.

Things to remember before making items

* The ICD shrinks after drying, so make about 20% bigger items because after drying they will become small in size.

* The colors mixed in the dough must be a little lighter than required, because after drying, their color will darken.

* Your nails should be cut small or they will cut out the small petals or can leave impressions on flowers.

* Grease the ICD stick with petroleum jelly before using.

* Grease the blades of scissors carefully before cutting petals.

* Small flowers and leaves dry overnight.

* Roses, thick flowers and jewelry takes maximum 24 hours to dry completely.

* Toothpicks, darning needle or sewing needles can be used to give impressions on small flowers and leaves.

Making flowers on Wires - Roses

* First make central bud.

* Cut out wire of desired length plus half inch more. Apply some glue on its one end.

* Insert the glued-end into the bud from the bottom side in the middle passing about half the length of bud.

* Place bud on a piece of sponge/foam to dry.

* When the bud dries completely, then make three small petals and stick them to bud with the help of glue.

* Now you can wait to dry them too or make five large petals and glue them too.

* Put the rose straight in a vase or in a bottle to dry completely.

For Other Flowers

* Make the central part of flower first and insert wire into them just like for rose and let them dry.

* Join the petals to the central part using glue.

* Let the flowers dry upside-down on sponge/foam.

method:
1)clean tiles
2)mix fevicol with water just good enought to paint
3)mix lacquer with thinner1:2( too much of thinner will give net effect, too much of lacquer will give foggy effect)
4)apply horizontally lacquer on back of one of the cards and let it dry then apply vertically and let it dry then repeat the same in the front.
5) now take the other card apply horrizontally and vertically lacquer just in the front and let it dry.
6)now tear the edges of this card upwards (unevenly)so that u can c thin white paper.
7)apply fevicol mixture on the back of this card
8)stick this card on tiles and cover it with white wet cloth(dip the cloth in water and squeeze the water completely) and roll it with belan from inside to towards the edges. This remove ant air locked inbetween.

9)now using rag cloth dipped in turpentine appaly oil paint on the white edges in circular motion. dont worry id it gets inside ur picture as it can be wiped immediately with white cloth.
10)now make dough with chalk powder fevicol .
11)cut the card picture parts that u want to have embossed effect and with some small blunt tool (like pensil back)shape it by slightly pressing from inside to towards the edge . it will curve the parts
12) now apply fevicol on this and the place on which this will be stuck . and place a small dough and stick the small part.(HOPE U CAN UNDERSTAND .OH! TRYING BY BEST TO EXPLAIN THRU WRITING)it will be difficult to stick first but will get to know the tech .
13) complete all the parts . and now using 00 brush and water colour paint the edges of the stuck part to match with its surrounding( so that u cant see the cut and stuck place)
14)now apply lacquer horizontally let it dry and then vertically . repeat this 2 more time(horizontal and vertical painitng)
15) now apply fevicol mixture horizontally let dry then vertically 2 times
16) again repeat step 14 and 15 5 times. this really makes the stuck figure merged with base card

17)finish it of with the final lacquer and clean the edges.
18) SORRY GIRLZ FORGOT TO MENTION ABT NAIL POLISH REMOVER AND EAR BUD...
when u paint lacquer sometimes by mistake we might paint it on tiles too so to remove that use ear bud dipped in nail polish remover.

HOPE U CAN UNDERSTAND.PLZ WRITE UR COMMENTS. have a look at picture in my album so that u might get the idea of what i am telling.
BTW DID ANY OF U TRY THE WATER FOUNTAIN?

lacquer u get in hardware shop.its used by carpenters and painters to add gloss to their finish.
.
.
.
lacqure is applied on card thats stuck on tile because when u use oilpaint to colour the white edges , if by mistake the colour gets into our picture it can be wipped off.
on the card thats going to be cut because when shaping it will not tear the card and make it easy to shape
