Beaded Calypso Coasters




This is a delightful pattern to brighten up your days. Also great for poolside parties.
Materials: Lion Brand "Incredible" Ribbon Yarn for Crochet & Knitting, 1-Ball Rainbow #201 (or color of choice); 1- Pkg. Fun With Beads! 9x6 mm Pony Beads, Bright Multi-Color (or color of choice); Size G Crochet Hook.

String 15 beads onto ribbon yarn.
Ch 5, join with slip stitch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 double crochet), double crochet in same stitch as ch 3, 2 dc crochets in each stitch around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning chain 3.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in same ch 3 st, 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st to 3 ch of beginning chain 3.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning chain 3.
Rnd 4: Sc in same sl st and in each st around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning chain 3. Turn Work.
Rnd 5: Sc in same sl st, bring up a bead, sc in ext 3 sts, * bring up a bead, sc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * around. Sc in last 2 sts and sl st to beginning st. Finish off. Adjust Beads.
Note: This coaster is not absorbent because it is ribbon. Use wool yarn with this pattern to create coasters that are absorbent
