We know that as soon as school begins, you'll be as busy as a bee. But for now, why not take a relaxing moment to stitch this little design. Celebrating nature, perhaps it will also remind you of the busy, relaxing, meandering, purposeful days of summer.
Materials needed:

  • 28-count "Open Window" linen, natural color, by Graziano
  • Kreinik Silk Mori® 8050, 8075, 7086, 2014, 2016, 8000, 2017
  • Kreinik Cord 225C Slate, 005C Black
  • Kreinik Blending Filament 032 Pearl, 005 Black
  • #24 Tapestry needle

Instructions:
Each square on the chart equals two fabric threads. Stitch this design over two on the 28-ct linen. centered in one of the squares. 1. Cross stitch over two threads according to the color key using two strands of Silk Mori. Cross stitch the wing with one strand Mori combined with one strand Blending Filament. 2. To finish as a placemat, trim the fabric to desired size, and hem each side. Do not iron directly onto the metallic threads; use a press cloth and do not use steam.
