Knitting Patterns - Adult Knit Booties

Quick & Thick Knit Booties!
These should fit women sizes 7-9 easily--they stretch!
You need:
Approx 4 ounces of 2 contrasting colors of Caron Simply Soft, 4 ply, worsted weight yarn.
2 size 8 straight needles.
A darning needle or tapestry needle to sew them with.
Note: To save time and row counting, use longer needles and make both feet at once, if you can juggle the 4 balls  all together. J
Cast on 37 stitches per bootie.
1:K17, increase 1 stitch in each of the next 3 stitches, K17 (40 sts)
2:K19, increase 1 stitch in each of the next 2 stitches, K19 (42 sts)
3:K19, increase 1 stitch  in next stitch, K4, increase 1 stitch in next stitch, K19. (44 sts)
4:K44
5:K20, increase 1 st in next st, K2, increase 1 st in next st, K20 (46 sts)
6-30-K across (46 sts)
31:Bind off 5 sts, K40 (41 sts left on needle)
32:Bind off 5 sts, K35 (36 sts left on needle)
33-37:K across (36 sts)
38:Decrease row- (slip 1, K1, PSSO), K30, K2tog (34 sts)
39:K across (34 sts)
40:Decrease row-(slip 1, K1, PSSO), K30, K2tog (32 sts)
41-49:K across (32 sts)
50:Decrease row-(slip 1 st, K1, PSSO), K28, K2tog (30 sts)
51:K across (30 sts)
52-56: Decrease each row by repeating the (sl 1 st, K1, PSSO) K to last 2 sts and then K2tog. You will end up with 20 stitches left at the toe.
57: Bind off in K
Unless you are proficient with sewing knit together, you will want sew this together on whichever side you choose for the WRONG side.
Fold the bootie together. Lining up the TOP of the slipper, at the front of your ankle,  through to the toe section.
Next sew the toe closed, with the toe lying flat, as though you had the bootie on your foot!
Lastly, sew the heel area closed.
Presto, fast and thick booties that will wear really well, thanks to the double yarn and the ALL knit sts!
