Crochet Patterns - Asymmetrical Cross Stitch Poncho

Materials and Supplies:  2 skeins of Red Heart Plush yarn in the color of your choice; Crochet hook size P or Q (whichever achieves the gauge listed); Scissors; Tapestry needle.
 
Gauge: 8 dc in cross stitch pattern = 4 inches; In pattern stitch Rows 2 – 8 = 4 ½ inches.
 
Directions
Chain 203 (odd multiple of 3 plus 1 and one ch to turn)
Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each ch.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc).  (Skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, dc in skipped sc) across to last sc.  Dc in last sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each dc.
Row 4: Ch 5 (counts as 1st dc plus ch 2).  (Skip 2 sc, dc in next sc, ch 2) across ending with a dc in last sc.
Rows 5 & 6:  Ch 5 (counts as 1st dc plus ch 2).  (Dc in next dc, ch 2) across ending with dc in last dc.
Row 7:  Ch 1.  Sc in each dc and ch across.
Rows 8 – 31:  Repeat Rows 2 & 3.  Do not cut yarn at the end of Row 31.  Work one round of sc around entire poncho.  Cut yarn and weave in loose ends.
   
Finishing:
Fold poncho in half lengthwise.  Leave approximately ¼ of the poncho open beginning with the fold for the neck opening.  Slip stitch the next 2/4 of the poncho closed.  Leave the last ¼ of the poncho open.  Work one round of crab stitch around neck opening.
