We love embellishing printed fabric panels and turning them into quilted wall hangings. With Kreinik beads, tape and thread, you don't even have to stitch an inch in the center panel of this cute dog quilt. Simply emellish one of Candamar Designs' embellished cross stitch panel using double-sided tape, Kreinik metallics, and beads, then sew on your borders. It makes a quick gift or fun decoration.
Materials needed:
  • Fabric panel #51477 by Candamar Designs, Inc. featuring dog holding his leash**
  • Kreinik Micro Ice Chenille in Fern Green
  • Kreinik #12 Braid: 008HL, 003HL, 027, 006, 100HL, 101, 019, 005
  • Kreinik #16 Braid 003
  • Kreinik 1/16" Ribbon 273, 9194
  • Flat-backed cabochons for the top two corners
  • small sequins for eyes
  • blue seed beads
  • Diamond Beadlets
  • shallow pan or tray
  • 8" x 10" sheet of Treasure Tape
Instructions:
1. Lay the sheet of Treasure Tape on top of your printed fabric panel.
2. Remove the red liner to expose the top sticky part.
3. Begin by placing large cabochons along in the top two corner squares, and place some sequins for eyes. Randomly place blue seed beads around the dog (in the blue background area).
4. Then begin thread embellishing by laying the thread on the tape in swirls and curly q?s, outlines, or similar, following the pattern on the fabric. Here's where and how we used the thread:
a. Micro Ice Chenille as border
b. #16 Braid 003 for the words "Best Friend"
c. 003HL for leash
d. 100HL for white areas of dog
e. 273 for outlining dog body
f. 027 for dog body
g. 006 for blue blackground area
h. 9194 for borders on green blocks
i. 008HL for "My dog loves me" "I love my dog" words
j. 101 to outline the dog's paws
k. 019 to outline the dog's mouth
l. 005 to curl into a nose

5. When thread decorating is complete, lay the block in a shallow pan or tray and cover all remaining sticky areas with the Diamond Beadlets.
