Transform an unfinished wooden frame, purchased at a craft store, into a high-end, boutique-style embellished frame.
Materials needed:
- purple duct tape or paint
- purple, pink or white ribbon
- 1" roll of Treasure Tape
- Kreinik #12 Braid metallic thread in 012 Purple, 026 Amethyst, 100 White, 023 Lilac, 093 Star Mauve
- purple or pink yarn scraps
- Buttons
- unfinished wooden frame
- Diamond Beadlets®
- shallow pan or tray
Instructions:
1. Cover wooden frame with purple duct tape, or paint the entire frame purple.
2. Use 1" roll of Treasure Tape, one strip at a time, to cover frame completely.
3. Peel back the tape's red liner to expose the sticky area.
4. Use buttons to decorate the sides of your frame.
5. Use ribbon, metallic thread, yarn or anything else you desire to decorate the top. You can zigzag, curl or coil for a variety of techniques.
6. Dip in Diamond Beadlets® to cover all exposed sticky areas.
Tips:
When applying "stringy embellishments" like ribbon, embroidery threads and fibers to double-sided Treasure Tape, you can easily pull up the design and start again if you make a mistake or want to try a different design.
- When using red liner Treasure Tape it is best to cut with Teflon® coated scissors -- or use adhesive remover to wipe the residue off your scissors.
